09.12.2004 – The BOP belonging to DEEPSEA TRYM were successfully transported from CCB (Bergen area) to site Åmøyfjorden (Stavanger area)with EIDE REX and EIDE BARGE 9.
The BOP belonging to DEEPSEA TRYM were successfully transported from CCB (Bergen area) to site ‘Åmøyfjorden’ (Stavanger area) by EIDE REX and EIDE BARGE 9 and hoisted up through the DST moonpool.Eide Marine Services AS has in cooperation with the Marine section of Odfjell Drilling Engineering Department contributed to this successful operation. There were several challenges related to the work: · Short engineering/planning time
· Engineering/seafastening of BOP frame
· Arrival time on site according to ‘just in time’
· Heavy lifting operations (135 + 46 tonnes)
· Weather window / limitations At the CCB base EIDE LIFT was chosen for the heavy lift operations. The BOP (split in two) parts were lifted onboard EIDE BARGE 9 at CCB and then towed by EIDE REX to the ‘Åmøyfjorden site’. High focus on QHSE = zero injuries! Good luck to the Deepsea Trym on her future drilling work!
